Starline's Sugar rounding 'em up!

Gary Edwards: Sugar is our 6 year old Olde English Bulldogge female.
She is of Hermes bloodline and registered by
ARF.
A beloved member of our family who guards and protects us.
Sugar is a working dog on our 730 acre cow/calf farm. She seems tireless and is essentially fearless,
easily handling 2,400 pound bulls.
She is my constant companion and protector, immediately placing herself between me and a perceived danger,
whether it be an agitated bull or a stranger. These are very intelligent dogs, and can be very strong willed.
Obedience schooling would be an asset. They are friendly, get along well with children,
and are protective of their family.

Dan Edwards: "Sugar is a well built, powerful and very intelligent dog.
She has a very pleasant temperament and is very good with strangers
including children. She is a very athletic dog who loves to work cattle and run with the ATV. She never fails to impress me with her ability to
problem-solve or her ability to complete any task she chooses to do".

Sugar and Mason

"By an unforeseen twist of fate, I became the owner of an Olde English Bulldogge over two years ago.  At the time, I considered the dog to be just another breed.  As I got to know the animal and have worked and played with her, I am almost daily amused by attitudes and opinions she can express with just her body language and actions.

There is no mistaking the way she feels about certain things.  She will get up and move away from me if I have offended her in some way known only to her.  It is her way of punishing me for some slight I have done her.  Or she will
convey such excitement at my homecoming after only a few minutes.  She often likes to sleep with some part of her body touching me, i.e. my foot or leg.

I have noticed an increased protectiveness toward me as she matures.  She will place herself between myself and what she perceives as a danger.

She has always enjoyed playing with the cattle on our farm.
With the younger animals she would play games that resembled tag with her running in to nip at them as they tried to head butt her.  Despite the viscous description all animals seemed to enjoy this game for hours.  A few times I observed her standing on the back of a resting bull as she gazed around her.  Neither animal appeared to think this was odd."
